Hi Courtney. I was in a discussion with a colleague about Thunder Over Louisville and she mentioned your name. It was in conjunction with the events on the Friday night the 17th. I told her we had met when you helped with our conference in November and that you and your staff had taken terrific care of our guests. We occasionally hear from some of the folks that were here this past fall and they say they have yet to attend a conference that matched ours. Thanks again for helping us make that event a success and I’ll bet the people that attend this month’s party will leave equally enthusiastic about Sully’s.

Hello! I was interested in using Sully's Saloon for my rehearsal dinner. The reason I am wanting to use your restaurant is because it is where everything began! My soon to be husband proposed there last May out on your patio, so it holds a special place with me. Our rehearsal dinner is on August 28 around 7 pm. The conventional wisdom about watering holes is that Britain and Ireland have pubs and America has bars. Anyone who has patronized both readily recognizes the different character of each.

Sully's, one of several recently opened venues at 4th Street Live, is something of a hybrid of the two. A good selection of draft beers, the handsome wood-trimmed bar, and booths and small tables conducive to socializing have a touch of the pub about them.

The gleaming rows of liquor bottles, plasma-screen TVs and casual menu are from the American side of the Atlantic.

In short, Sully's fills a niche for after-work drinks and moderately priced lunch and dinner fare.

Shareable starters include Buffalo wings, cheese-steak nachos, steamed mussels and chicken tenders. A trio of side salads (spinach, Caesar, mixed greens) can be promoted to entree status with grilled chicken breast.

A friend and I shared an order of 10 medium-sized peel and eat shrimp ($9.75) served with cocktail sauce and lemon. The spices used in the shrimp boil made the shellfish plenty flavorful without the sauce.
